About

Built by people who've held a clipboard.

EarthScope exists because the tools SME consultancies use today weren't built for them. We started with one rule: make the everyday borehole log easier than the spreadsheet workaround.

Geotechnical consultancies do meticulous, exacting work — and most of them rely on tooling that was last modernised in 2005. Enterprise platforms are priced for global firms. Older desktop software pre-dates the laptop their staff actually carry on site.

EarthScope is built around the SME workflow specifically. Pay per borehole, not per seat. Run on a browser, not a Windows desktop. Share with clients without printing to PDF and chasing an email thread.

We're a small, technically-led team based in the UK. We talk to consultants every week and ship the things they actually struggle with.

What we stand for

Three words we keep coming back to

Man looking through a total station

Precise

Data-forward, exact language. No fluff. The software speaks the dialect engineers already use.

Tube focusing on a man with a hardhat using a tablet

Dependable

Calm, consistent UI. Not flashy. The tool that doesn't let you down at 8am on a wet site.

Stylus and drawing pad on an office desk

Modern

Web-native, not a port of a 2005 desktop app. Built for how consultancies actually work today.

Our mission

Data that drives decisions

The ground investigation industry generates enormous amounts of data — and too much of it sits locked in spreadsheets, PDFs, and filing cabinets where it can't do any work.

Our mission is to put that data in your hands in a form you can actually use. Not just stored — structured, accessible, and ready to inform how you plan investigations, report findings, and run your practice.

When your data is organised from the moment it's captured, you spend less time processing and more time on the judgement that only you can apply. Better data in means better decisions out.

Hi — I'm Martin. I started EarthScope because I kept seeing talented geotechnical teams held back by tools that couldn't keep up with them.

I care deeply about outcomes — not features. When you tell me something isn't working for your consultancy, I take it personally. My job is to make sure EarthScope earns its place in your workflow, and that means staying close to the people using it and moving quickly when something needs to change.

If you want to talk about your practice, what's frustrating you, or what would make your life easier — I'd genuinely love to hear it.
